to get you ready for you Basic Cruising Standard certification as a skipper, or simply to accumulate more

nautical miles for your nautical resume.

These Skill Mastery Classes are recommended but not a prerequisite for the Basic Cruising Standard certification.

Step 3 - Basic Cruising Standard Certification

Ce cours permet de développer les compétences nécessaires pour prendre la direction d'un voilier motorisé (avec l’aide d’un équipage bien formé), le jour, dans des conditions relativement favorables.

This course allows you to develop the necessary skills to operate a motorized sailboat (with the help of a well-trained crew), during the day, in relatively favorable conditions.

We offer you 3 options for this certification:

Basic Cruising Standard on 2 weekends: from 8am to 4pm each day for 4 days, you return home every evening.

Basic Cruising Standard: from 8am to 4pm each day for 5 days, you return home every evening.

Basic Cruising Standard Aboard: your class starts on Sunday 4pm and ends on Friday 4pm.  Grocery shopping and meal planning is done as a group on the first day. You then go on an adventure for 5 days where you will participate in a multitude of tasks while developing the necessary skills to master a sailboat.

Once you've obtained your certification, you can participate to our Skill Mastery sessions Sailing with Friends - Level 2 and our Week with Friends to accumulate experience and nautical miles.

necessary experience for “life aboard” cruises.

Depending on your experience, it is recommended, before (and even after) this certification, to perfect your experience and accumulate nautical miles through our Skill Mastery sessions.

These sessions are recommended but not a prerequisite for the intermediate cruising certificate.

At this level, you should have accumulated several nautical miles under your belt. Please take note of all prerequisites necessary for certification.
