Introduction to Boating

No Prerequisite Required ​
This is an introductory course in navigation maneuvers, for 2 to 7 participants. Following the Sail Canada program, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the pleasure of sailing. It allows you to introduce safe practices, casting off, docking and sailing maneuvers in a safe environment and in learning mode. This course can be easily adapted to suit the confidence level of novice sailors and more experienced participants.

Developed Knowledge and Skills
Ashore Knowledge:
​
Seaworthiness of the boat, location of safety equipment and its use as well as the role of a crew member and the resulting safety.

Afloat Skills:
​
As a crew member, participate in the preparation for departure from and returning to dock, demonstrate safe behaviour while underway and participate in operations aimed at securing the boat before leaving.
